The following information is recorded using the “New” option of the Material Characteristic Sets list:

Code: The material characteristic set code. An alphanumeric field of 30 characters long.

Description: The definition or description of the material characteristic set.

Auxiliary Code: A secondary code field used to classify material characteristics sets. Contains 10 characters. The Aux. Code is used to classify material characteristic sets by company specific criteria. The user can use this field to record any necessary information that is not included in the material characteristic set card.

Authorization Code: Used to define detailed authorizations. The string is 10 characters long. Each user may be authorized to use different records depending on job definitions. A planning process must be performed for detailed authorization definitions. First, material characteristic sets to be accessed or processed by each user or user group should be specified. Then, separate authorization codes are assigned to material characteristic sets accessible by each authorization group. Slip based encryption can be performed by the authorization code. In this way, only the users who log in with the specified authorization code can access and process the slips.

 

Characteristic Definitions

Characteristic Code: The material characteristic code to be included in the characteristic set.

Material characteristics to be included in the material characteristic set are selected from the list accessed using the "…"  icon. As many characteristics as required can be added to the characteristic set.

Characteristic Description: The definition or description of the material characteristic. The characteristic description selected on the code field is transferred into the field. The selection can also be made on this field by listing material characteristics. 

Description: The description to be entered by the user for the related characteristics. The “characteristic description” is automatically transferred by the application, but can be changed if necessary. The user will view this description after the configuration.

Mandatory: Indicates whether the material characteristic is mandatory.

Variable: The name of the variable to be used in Default Conditions, Characteristic Prerequisites and Value Calculation definitions for the related characteristic. Data is entered directly.

Exceptions: The values to be excluded from the specified characteristic values are recorded on this field. If the value number is known, it can be entered on the field by being separated with semicolons. If the value is not known, related value(s) can be removed by checking the Passive option on the Exception Characteristic Values list.

Default: The default value of the characteristic. The first value set for the characteristic is transferred into the field by the application, but can be changed if necessary.

Characteristic Prerequisites: This field indicates the conditions in which the characteristic value will be valid. Here, the conditions required to limit variable characteristics are entered as codes, and are processed while variants are added.

Value Prerequisites: Indicates the conditions in which the related characteristic will be applied. Value prerequisites are used to make a characteristic active or passive against another characteristic. Data can be entered for the value if it is “Active”. Data cannot be entered for the value if it is “Passive”.

Value Calculation: Value calculation allows the value of a characteristic to be calculated using the value of another characteristic.

Affects Price: Indicates whether or not the related material characteristic affects the material price. The box on the field is checked if the characteristic affects the price.

The icons on the definition window are used to sort characteristics.



Used to move the lowest material characteristic definition to the top.


Used to move the upper material characteristic definition to the bottom.


Used to move the related material characteristic definition one position up.


Used to move the related material characteristic definition one position down.
