Groups option located in the Management menu of the Administration application is used to specify working methods and authorizations by grouping users within the same organizational structure. Users can be assigned to different groups by their functions. Determination of user groups not only helps terminal usage to be organized but also determines transactions and information that group members are allowed to perform and access.
Users and groups are defined by first specifying groups and then the related users. Defining user authorizations through groups generated according to functions or company practices rather than assigning authorizations separately for each user facilitates work organization and provides data security.
Groups and users are defined by processing company locations and procedures. Users can be grouped according to their locations or functions. The Groups menu option is used to define groups.
The LOGO group located on the Groups window is defined as default in the LOGO application. The authorization level of this group is determined as System Administrator. The name of the default LOGO group can be changed; however, the authorization level of this group and related users cannot be limited. "Update" button is clicked to change the name of the selected group.
"New" button is used to define new groups. The fields and functions of the Groups window are:

Number: The number of the group. When a new group is defined, the number following the last assigned group number is transferred directly into this field, and can be changed if required.
Name: The name of the group.
Rights: Indicates the authorization level of the defined group. This field has two options:

  • System Supervisor
  • User

Authorizations of the system administrator group cannot be limited.
Group definitions are recorded by clicking on "Save" button. Each group definition is listed on the groups window along with its Number and Name.
