Workstation information is recorded by workstation cards. The fields and functions of the window are:

Code: The record code of the workstation.

Description: The name or description of the workstation.

Workstation information is recorded on the following tabs of the workstation window:

  • General Info
  • Workstation Characteristics
  • G/L Codes



General Info

The fields on the general info tab and their relative functions are:

Aux. Code: The aux. code of the workstation. The string is 10 characters long. Alphanumeric characters can be used for coding. This option can be used to classify workstations based on company specific criteria.

Authorization Code: The authorization code of the workstation. Up to 10 alphanumeric characters can be used for coding. Each user may be authorized to access different records depending on job definitions. Used to define detailed authorizations.

Status: Indicates the usage status of the workstation. The status field has two options: Active and Passive. Definitions selected as passive on this field are not displayed on the workstations list. Therefore, workstation definitions with passive status cannot be used in work and production orders.

Plant: Indicates the plant to which the workstation is related to. The plant definitions are listed and the appropriate definition is selected.

Plant Department: Indicates the plant department of the workstation.

Shift Group: This field is used to select the workstation group to which the workstation is related. The shift information of the workstation group applies to the workstation as well.

Raw Material Warehouse: Indicates the default value of the source raw material warehouse for materials to be used in the workstation for production. The warehouses related to the plant of the workstation are listed, and the appropriate warehouse is selected.

Finished Good / Semi Finished Good Warehouse: Indicates the default value of the semi finished product and product warehouse where the goods produced in the workstation will be stored. The warehouses related to the plant of the workstation are listed, and the appropriate warehouse is selected.

Workstation Characteristics

The characteristics applied to the workstation and the values of these characteristics are recorded on the workstation characteristics tab located in the workstation window.

Characteristic Code: The characteristics code of the workstation. Defined characteristics are listed and the appropriate definition is selected.

Characteristic Description: The characteristics description of the workstation. The characteristics of the defined workstations can also be accessed through this field. New characteristics can be created, or a selection can be made from among existing definitions.

Characteristic Value: The field used to specify the characteristics value. The characteristics values are listed and a selection is made.

 G/L Codes

The account codes and overhead pools to be used to track the workstation operations posted to G/L are recorded on the G/L codes tab.

Separate account codes and overhead pools can be specified for transfer, time difference and fee difference.

Account Code: The account code used to track the workstation operations posted to G/L.

Overhead Pool: The overhead pool used to track the workstation operations posted to G/L.

G/L codes and overhead pools are assigned using the G/L connection codes option on the workstation definition or the General Ledger section.

The G/L account codes and overhead pools are defined from the workstation window or using the G/L Connection Codes option of the Main Records menu located under the General Ledger section. The defined codes can be transferred as default to the Account Code and Overhead Pool fields if requested. The default codes can be changed if necessary.
