The information regarding the whole packaging slip is recorded on the upper fields of the slip. The fields and functions of this section are:
Slip Number: The tracking number of the packaging slip.
Date: Displays the record date of the Packaging Slip.
Hour: The record hour of the packaging slip.
Aux. Code: A code field of 10 characters used to group the slips. The aux. code is typically used to group the slips by company specific criteria. This field is not mandatory; it can also be used to process information not contained on the slip.
Authorization Code: This field can contain up to 10 alphanumeric characters, and is used to define authorizations on a per record basis. This field is not mandatory.
In the LOGO application, each user may be authorized to access different records depending on the job definitions. Planning must be the first step in order to define authorizations by record. First the records that the users or user groups can access are specified. Then separate authorization codes are assigned to records accessible by each authorization group. In this way, only the users who log in with the specified authorization code can access and process the slips.

AR/AP Info

Code: The AR/AP code of the packaging transaction. The AR/AP of the packaged slip is transferred into this field.
Title: The name or title of the AR/AP of the packaging transaction. The AR/AP title of the packaged slip is transferred into this field.

Packaged Slips

The section used to record the slips to be packaged.

Slip Type: This field is used to specify the slip type to be packaged. The slip type field contains the following options.

  • Order Slip
  • Dispatch

The recorded slips are accessed from the slip number field depending on the slip type specified on the line, and the slips to be packaged are selected. If no slip is selected for packaging, the packaging slip is not recorded. The information of the AR/AP code of the selected slip is automatically transferred into the AR/AP code and AR/AP title fields of the packaging line.
In the LOGO application, if the packaging slip window is directly accessed from the slip to be packaged, in other words if a single slip is packaged, the packaging slips section lists only this slip.

Packaging Tree

The left pane of this section lists the packages, and the right pane displays the package contents. The package content may consist of materials or other packages.

"Add Package" option located in the right mouse button menu is used to add a new package to the packaging list. If the packaging is required to be automatically performed by the LOGO application, "Automatic Packaging" option of the right mouse button menu is used. In this case, the packages specified in the customer/supplier tab of the material record of the material to be packaged are transferred into the slip.
The materials are listed by material codes in the content list. If the same materials will be packaged for different AR/APs, the list is displayed by quantities.
If the slip lines include serial/lot transactions, the materials are displayed on separate lines on the content list by serial/lot numbers.
The materials and packages can be inserted inside the package using the drag-and-drop function.

General Info About Packaging Transaction

The packaging operation can be either performed by the application using Automatic Packaging option, or by the user using "Add Package" option.

Automatic Packaging

Automatic Packaging option of the right mouse button menu is used to perform packaging operation automatically.
The steps followed in the Automatic Packaging operation:

  • The number of packages to be used and the material quantity to be inserted in each package is calculated using the package assignment information located in the customer/supplier tab of the materials.
  • Number of Packages = (Total Material Quantity) / (Packaging Quantity)
  • If "Mix Packages Allowed" is selected in the packaging method field, other materials for which mix packages are allowed can be placed in unfilled packages. When "Mix Packages Not Allowed" is selected in the packaging method field, some packages may contain less material than the packaging quantity specified in the assignment information.
  • If a parent package is defined in the Customer/Supplier tab of the material for the package to be used, telescopic packaging performed during the automatic packaging operation.

When automatic packaging is selected in the LOGO application, the package numbering operation is performed by processing the value of the package numbering method when Packaging Automatically parameter of the Sales and Distribution Parameters located in the Definitions menu of the Administration section. When "On Slip Bottom" method is selected general numbering is performed for the slip bottom; when "By AR/AP" method is selected instead, the numbering is performed by AR/AP.

Packaging Slip Window

This menu option is used to record the packaging operations of the materials specified in the sales orders and/or sales dispatches. A packaging slip can be generated for a single order slip or dispatch, or the same packaging slip can be used for multiple order slips or dispatches if necessary.
The packaging slip window accessed by clicking on "New" button located at the bottom of the Packaging Slip window includes the following sections.

  • General Info
  • AR/AP Info
  • Usage Slip Info
  • Packaged Slips
  • Packaging Tree

Add Package

When the packaging is performed by the user, the package selection and material insertion operations are performed manually. "Add Package" option located in the right mouse button menu is used to select packages.
The materials can be inserted into the packages using the drag-and-drop function, or using "Transfer Material" option located in the right mouse button menu. In both cases, the quantity of the material to be packaged is specified in the Materials to Be Transferred to Package window.
The LOGO application displays a warning message when the weight and/or volume capacity of any package is exceeded during the process. The weight and volume controls of the packages are performed according to the values of net weight and net volume fields specified in the units tab of the material.
