The lot or serial numbers for tracked materials are recorded using the Serial/Lot/Location Info option located in the right-click menu.
Serial/Lot Info on Material Input Slips
The lot or serial numbers on input from production, opening and count excess slips recorded from the Material Management section are assigned by entering the serial number or lot quantity on the Number and quantity fields of the Serial/Lot Input Transactions window.
If Lot/Serial Numbers will be assigned using previously defined numbers, the Link to Lot/Serial Number option is used.
Recorded numbers are listed. The serial numbers to be transferred to the transaction are specified by selection and transferred to the material line of the slip by clicking the Select button. In tracking by Serial Number operations, a different serial number is assigned for each input quantity specified on the line.
When tracking by lot number is used, a lot number is assigned to each material transaction. This lot number is applied to any input or output quantities in the slip or invoice.
Serial/Lot Info on Material Output Slips
In the Usage, Scrap, Cycle Count Deficit and Warehouse Slips recorded from the Material Management section, the output Lot/Serial Numbers of the materials tracked by Lot/Serial Numbers are recorded in association with the output transactions. When the Serial/Lot/Location is selected in the material line of the slip, the Serial/lot output transactions window is opened. The Link to Serial/Lot Number button is clicked, and the related input transactions recorded with a serial/lot number are listed. Serial or lot transactions to be linked to the output transaction on the line are selected and transferred into the slip line.
When the materials which are tracked by serial number are used in output slips by associating the relevant serial number, the same serial number should not be reused. If the output slip status is in "Approved" or "Draft" status, serial numbers used for the relevant material are not listed in the "Link to Serial Input Transaction" window. Serials numbers used for the output slips in "Cancelled" status are listed and can be selected again.
On the Transfer Slips, the Serial or Lot Numbers of the output transactions are recorded by associating with the input transactions. For transfer slips used in transactions between the warehouses, the Location Codes belonging to the warehouses from/to which the material is output or input are tracked and recorded under the Source Warehouse, Destination Warehouse and Location Code columns of the Lot/Serial output window.
