Material Characteristics option is used to define material characteristics. Materials can have more than one characteristic and different values. A material with different characteristics and values indicates that the material has different variants. This process is called material configuration.
Defining the material characteristics is essential in order to provide configuration management aimed at controlling and managing situations where material variations are generated with different characteristics and values of a material. j-Guar keeps all material data and changes under control and prevents data duplication with these characteristic definitions. Therefore, it will not be necessary to open a separate material card for each material configuration and tracking through material variants will be facilitated and accelerated. Material characteristics should be completely and accurately defined to implement such management.
Material Characteristics are defined using the Material Management > Definitions > Material Characteristics menu option.
The relevant options located in Material Characteristics list, and the Info and right-click menu options are used to define material characteristics or to modify existing definitions. The menu options are:
