Information to be used in shift assignments for each workstation (group) and employee (group) is recorded in Shift window accessed by clicking on "New" button located at the bottom of the Shifts list. The fields and functions on the Shift window are:

Code: The shift code. This field is mandatory.

Description: The name or the description of the shift.

Status: Indicates the usage status of the shift. The status field has two options: Active and Passive. Records selected as passive on this field are not displayed on the shift lists accessed through employee (group) and workstation (group) definitions. Therefore, shift definitions with passive status cannot be used in workstations, employees, or their groups.

Cost Factor: Used for calculation of the resource's unit cost. The given cost factor here is taken into consideration when the workstation and employee costs are calculated. It specifies the cost factor that is wanted to be valid for the shift in line. Cost factor can change according to different working times.

Aux. Code: The aux. code of the shift. The code allows the user to classify shifts by company specific criteria.

Authorization Code: The authorization code of the shift. Up to 10 alphanumeric characters can be used for coding. Each user may be authorized to access different records depending on job definitions. Used to define detailed authorizations.

Full Time: This option is marked when the resource will work full time (24 hours).

Start Time: Indicates the shift start time.

End Time: The shift end date should be entered into the line where the shift start date is entered. The end date can be numerically smaller than the start date. For instance, if start date is 22:00 and end date is 05:30, the shift starts at 22:00 in the evening, and ends at 05:30 in the morning. Hours are checked for records in separate lines, and hour conflicts are not allowed. When there is a conflict, "This shift hour is within previously defined hours" warning message is displayed.
