In an opening slip generated with carrying over transaction, price indices of the relevant transactions are calculated and displayed automatically.

However, user can change calculated indices. Indices can also be entered for slips and transactions added by the user.

When calculating indices, account character for non-monetary accounts is significant. If account characteristic is debt, indices are not calculated for credit balance transactions, as it is not performed for debt balanced transactions either when account characteristic is credit. Amount equalization is done in accordance with LIFO method for transactions that turn out appropriate type of balance for account characteristic. As a result of this equalization, indices are assigned according to formula stated above.

Let's say that 2001 transactions of a non-monetary account of which account characteristic is debt are as below:

Date

Debit

Credit

Indices

01.02.2001

100,000,000

100

01.03.2001

50,000,000

200

01.06.2001

200,000,000

250

In the opening period of 2002, balance of the relevant account will be 250,000,000 (D). Since account is overdrawn, indices of the relevant opening transaction are calculated.

Debt transaction with the latest date is found. In our example, this transaction is 200,000,000 (D) dated 01.06.2001. So 200.000.000 amount of 250.000.000 TL comes from this transaction. So "250,000,000-200,000,000=50,000,000" remains. 100.000.000 (D) transaction dated 01.02.2001 is the next transaction with the latest date. It is clear that the remaining 50.000.000 amount must be related to this transaction. So index found as below:

1/F.E = ((1/100)*50,000,000) + ((1/250)*200,000,000)/ 50,000,000 + 200,000,000
F.E. = 192, 30769

Balance type is important for monetary accounts. If the relevant monetary account year-end is overdrawn, debt transactions are detected and if it gives credit balance, credit transactions are detected, and amount equalization is performed according to LIFO. As a result of this equalization, indices are assigned according to the transaction steps stated below.
