Defined filters can be used in report design along with the standard filters defined in the application for each report. Both filter types can be used in standard and defined fields, and the information to be inserted in the field is linked.
The "New" option of the Defined Filters list accessed by clicking the Defined Filters button is used to define new filters to be used in the report. The filter information such as the filter name, type, and content and usage type is recorded in the Defined Filter window.
Defined filters are recorded by selecting a type. The filter types that can be defined are grouped under the

  • Text
  • Text Range
  • Number
  • Number Range
  • Date
  • Date Range
  • Selection by List
  • Group Selection


headings.

The information to be saved in the Defined Filters window varies depending on the selected filter type. The general definition information of the defined filter and the content, update/display and default value information are recorded in the relevant fields. The fields and functions of the Defined Filters window are:
Type: The type of the defined filter. Type options are listed and a selection is made.
Description: The name or description of the defined filter. The definition can not be saved without entering a description. The defined filter is displayed on the Defined Filters list with the name given in this field.

The Connection: Indicates how the defined filter will work. Contains the

  • Undefined
  • Standard Field
  • User Defined Field

Undefined: Selected if the defined filter will work without connection with the standard or defined filters (e.g. calculating the amounts by giving a table factor, or calculating the amounts by dividing them to a certain value).
Standard Field: Selected when the defined filter works in connection with one of the standard fields. The standard field that the filter will be working in connection with is specified in the Field section. The standard fields to be used for the selected report are listed and the field to which the filter will be connected is selected.
User Defined Field: Selected when the defined filter works in connection with one of the defined fields. The standard field that the filter will be working in connection with is specified in the Field section. The standard fields to be used for the selected report are listed and the field to which the filter will be connected is selected.

Edit / Display Info for Text and Text Range Type Filters
Length: Indicates the filter length (the number of characters) in Text and Text Range filter definitions.
Data Entry: Indicates how the data entry will be done in Text and Text Range filters. Contains the

  • Normal
  • Upper Case
  • Lower Case

Options: This field is used to specify the display method of the text filters using the "Strip Left Spaces" and "Strip Right Spaces" options.
Invertible: This field indicates that the contrary of the condition set by the filter can also be applied. If this filter is used in the report, the records or slips that do not match the condition set in the filter are listed.
Defaults: In Text filters, the default of the defined filter is recorded in the Value field, while the Start and End defaults are specified for Text Range filters.
Edit / Display Info for Number and Number Range Type Filters
Length: Indicates the filter length (the number of characters) in Number and Number Range filter definitions.
Data Entry: Indicates how the data entry will be done in Number and Number Range filters. This field contains

  • Normal
  • Currency
  • Percent

Format: The display method of the numbers in the report is recorded in this field for Number and Number Range filters. The format options are listed and a selection is made.
Fraction Digit: Indicates the length of the fraction digit in Number and Number Range filters.
Options: The display properties are specified using the Show Zeros, Fixed Fraction Digit, Fractional Numbers, Group Thousands and Negative Numbers options in the Number and Number Range filters. The display properties to be applied for the filter definition are checked.
Invertible: This field indicates that the contrary of the condition set by the filter can also be applied. If this filter is used in the report, the records or slips that do not match the condition set in the filter are listed.
Defaults: In Number filters, the default of the defined filter is recorded in the Value field, while the Start and End defaults are specified for Number Range filters.

Length: Indicates the filter length (the number of characters) in Date and Date Range filter definitions.
Data Entry: Indicates how the data entry will be done in date and date range filters. The Date entry options are listed and a selection is made.
Format: The appropriate format options for the data entry type are listed and a selection is made.
Options: The display properties are specified using the Calendar Help and Set Today options in the Date and Date Range filters. The display properties to be applied for the filter definition are checked.
Invertible: This field indicates that the contrary of the condition set by the filter can also be applied. If this filter is used in the report, the records or slips that do not match the condition set in the filter are listed.
Defaults: In Date filters, the default of the defined filter is recorded in the Value field, while the Start and End defaults are specified for Date Range filters.
Edit / Display Info for "Select by List" Filters
Length: Indicates the filter length (the number of characters) in "Select from the List" (multiple selection) filter definitions.
When "Select from the List" is specified as the filter type, the information to be included in the list is recorded on the List/Group tab that is used to record the order and descriptions of the options to be included in the list/group filter. The options to be applied as default are specified by checking the relevant box.
Edit / Display Info for Group Selection Type Filters
Length: Indicates the filter length (the number of characters) in Group Selection filter definitions. In the Group Selection filter, the information to be included in the group is recorded on the List/Group tab that is used to record the order and descriptions of the options to be included in the list/group filter.
