The safe deposit exchange rate difference calculation is performed collectively using the Safe Deposit Exch. Rate Diff. Calculation option located under the Operations menu of Finance module.
The exchange rate difference calculation window is used to specify the calculation conditions.

Calculation Date: Indicates the date of which the daily exchange rate will be used for the calculation. The exchange rate value is read from the daily exchange rates file.

Exchange Rate Type: Indicates the exchange rate to be taken into account when Exchange Rate Difference is calculated. Exchange rate types are specified on the Foreign Currency Usage screen in the System Settings section.

Line Description: It is the line description of the exchange rate difference slip.

Description: It is the description of the exchange rate difference slip.

The safe deposits for which the exchange rate difference will be calculated are specified using the Filters option on the Bank Exch. Rate Difference Calculation window.

Safe Deposit Code

Used to filter the safe deposit(s) to which the exchange rate difference calculation will be applied. If the exchange rate difference calculation will be performed only for specific accounts, conditions are set by defining groups or ranges.

Safe Deposit Aux. Code

Safe deposits for which the difference will be calculated can also be filtered by Aux. Code. The filtering is performed using one of the group or range definition filters.

Organizational Unit

Indicates the organizational unit for which the exchange rate difference will be calculated. The filtering is performed using one of the group or range definition filters.

Department Code

This filter line is used to specify the transactions performed by which department(s) will be processed for the calculation. Only the transactions performed through the departments specified on this field are scanned for each account, and the rate difference is calculated only for these transactions.

Currency Type

This filter line is used to specify the transactions performed in which currency will be processed for the calculation. More than one currency type can be selected on this field. In such cases, exchange rate difference is calculated separately for each currency type.

Exchange Rate Difference Limit

This filter line is used if exchange rate differences under a certain limit are not to be reflected on the remittance slip. When the calculated exchange rate difference is below the amount specified here, the transaction is not performed assuming that the exchange rate difference does not exist.

Exchange Rate Difference Type

This filter line is used to specify the transactions to be processed in exchange rate difference calculations. The exchange rate difference can be calculated for safe deposits with only Debit or only Credit balances, or it can contain both.

Once the conditions are set for the exchange rate difference calculation on the filter lines, the transaction is started by clicking the "Apply" button. Calculated exchange rates are recorded on the safe deposit slip specified on the slip type filter line. The date of the Exch. Rate Diff. Calculation slip is the date specified on the Exchange Rate Difference window.
Exchange rate difference calculations cannot be performed when a date different than the working days specified on company working definition is entered. Exchange rate difference is calculated by processing the exchange rate value against TRY specified on the Automatic Usage field of currency usage parameters. The F. Currency Type should be specified on the Automatic Usage field of the F. Currency Parameters in order to calculate the exchange rate difference with the required F. Currency Type.
