First, you define a material card of Asset type in Material Management module > Definitions > Materials browser for material-related assets:
The related asset category for which the material card is defined should be selected in "Asset Category" field located under the Asset Info tab of the material card. The depreciation information defined in this tab is transferred when the related material card is selected in the Asset card.
Once you define an "asset" material card, the related asset definition should be recorded with the Asset category that is selected under the Asset Management module > Definitions menu.

Asset Categories
Real Estates: The category that covers immovable assets such as buildings and land.
Transport Vehicles: The category that covers company vehicles such as cars and trucks.
Equipment: The category that covers company equipment such as machinery and computers.
Other Assets: The category that covers company assets such as desks and lockers.
The Code, Description, Org. Unit, Material Code and G/L Connection code information should be defined under the General Info tab of the asset card to be defined. The code information selected in Material Code field is used to link the asset card to the material. When clicked on browse (…) button in G/L Connection Group field, the G/L account connection groups of the asset type are listed and the related definition is selected, or a new definition is recorded using the New option.
If the depreciation will be calculated for the defined asset, you must check Fixed Asset box under the Details tab.
Input Cost field under the Fixed Asset Record tab of a draft asset card will be blank, and it will be updated after commissioning.
The asset information that is designated in the material card of asset type is transferred to the asset card by default when defining the asset.
