Material delivery types are important for detailed transaction tracking purposes, and the delivery method of each material is different. Certain additional transactions may be required depending on the delivery type since some inventory may be delivered with air, sea or land transport vehicles and the transport charges may be paid by the company.
Delivery codes are used to track and report how each material is delivered. Delivery codes are recorded using the Delivery Codes menu option located under the Material Management module > Definitions menu.
The following information is recorded using the "New" option.
Delivery Code: The code of the delivery definition.
Description: The name or the description of the delivery type.
The delivery or receipt type of the material is specified on the delivery code column and the material receipts, order slips, and invoice lines. Delivery codes are also used as a filter on reports.
