Transactions performed in trading system are gathered under the relevant G/L accounts. In order to obtain further and detailed information about transactions, more accounts are required; however, this will cause the Chart of Accounts to become oversized. Analysis dimensions are used to track details of these transactions by defining analysis dimensions. Analysis dimensions are tracked as separate cost centers in addition to G/L accounts especially when cost accounting is used. The related analysis dimension is specified when transactions are recorded in each application section. Analysis dimensions menu option is located under the System Settings module > Definitions > General menu. In order to define a new analysis dimension, click on the "New" button.

Code: The record code of the analysis dimension. The Code field is mandatory and its maximum length is 24 characters. Both letters and numbers can be used. As in the G/L accounts, each dimension can have an unlimited number of child analysis dimensions. The required hierarchal structures can be used at each level. According to the coding system, the parent and child analysis dimensions are separated from each other using the level bracket (".").
While recording analysis dimensions, the parent dimension is defined first. Then the child analysis dimensions which will be related to the parent dimension are defined. The child analysis dimensions cannot be defined without defining the parent dimension. In this case, users receive a prompt message requiring a parent definition.
