Company or division units located in different locations and used for production management are called Factories.
A plant can be related to only one division. However, divisions may have more than one plant. Plant definitions are recorded using Plant option located on the Company Definitions window. The Plant Definition window is used to assign plant numbers and names, and to select related divisions. The name of the plant number zero is "Main", and it is recorded as default in the application. The name of the plant can be changed if necessary; however, the plant number cannot be changed. In the LOGO application, transactions with blank Plant fields are assumed to be performed by the plant number zero.
Plant departments are recorded using Plant Departments option accessed by clicking the selected plant. Plant department information is specified on Working Dates and Department Definition windows accessed through "New" option. Plant department numbers are entered on the Number and Name fields. Working days of the plant department are selected on the Workdays field.
Working days specified on this field are used in production duration and cost calculations within the production process. Workdays can be different for each plant. Number of workdays can decrease in stagnancy periods, or increase in periods of high demand. Since these changes affect workdays, increases or decreases in number of workdays cause production durations to be shorter or longer respectively. Workday changes also affect hourly resource costs and production costs consecutively.
