This option is used to group material classes and their child materials by assigning hierarchy codes. Hierarchy codes are automatically assigned by the application. The hierarchy code assignment method for material cards is specified using the Material Management Parameters in the Administration section.
The Material Hierarchy Assignment parameter on the Parameter line contains the following options:
- By Input Transaction Priority
- By Code
When By Input Transaction Priority is selected, hierarchy codes are assigned by processing the order of material records.
When By Material Code is selected, the material code is processed and the hierarchy code is assigned accordingly.
The hierarchy code information is displayed on the material cards list as a column.
Hierarchy codes are generated by the application according to the selected method. Arrange Hierarchy Codes option located in the right mouse button is used to sort material cards by hierarchy codes depending on the selection made on the Administration section. A message is displayed indicating that hierarchy codes will be arranged. If Yes is selected, materials are listed based on order of entry or material code depending on the hierarchy code usage method.
The Display Class Tree option of the right mouse button menu of the material cards list is used to display the class tree generated according to the hierarchy codes.
The class tree is used to list usage totals by class. Total quantities of child materials which have the same unit with the material class selected on the class tree are calculated and listed for the material class.
