Asset types menu option is used to record the type definitions of Real Estate, Transport Vehicle, Equipment and Other Assets categories. The "New" option is used to record a new type for each asset category. This method facilitates gathering and reporting the assets under specific types.
For instance, a new type can be defined for the Real Estate such as "building land" or "building", while recording "passenger car" or "construction vehicle" as an Equipment type.
In order to match these asset types defined in the System Settings module with the Asset records, the "Type" option located in the Asset Management module > Definitions > All Asset Records (Real Estate, Equipment etc.) > General Info tab is used.
