Leasing is a process in which a party can obtain the right-to-use an asset without passing this asset into its ownership. The ownership of the investment good lies with the financial leasing company, and after the payment period is over and the rental price determined previously by the investor company is paid, the investment good is given to the investor company for a symbolic price. In financial leasing of the relevant investment good, which is passed into the ownership of the investor after the payments of rental contract, are made, rental payments, dates and conditions can be adopted to the properties of the investment good.
The operation of leasing system starts after the investor company decides on the equipment for rental. The investor company notifies the Financial Leasing company about the required equipment. Financial leasing company conducts a market research and makes a price offer. If the investor company takes this offer, a leasing contract is signed between the parties. Purchasing transactions are performed by leasing company. The contract is signed for, at least, a 4-year period, excluding the contracts signed for a 2-year period for equipment that have short technological life span.
Payments continue until the validity date of the contract expires, and once the payment duration is over, the investor company gives a symbolic price for the equipment and takes over the ownership.
Leasing records are tracked under Finance Management module > Transactions menu with Leasing Records menu option.
