Batch Update of BOM

Possible BOM information changes and the change methods are recorded using Batch Update of BOM option. Changes in materials used in production, operation-material relations and the BOM lines to be updated are updated by specifying the Update Method.
The option is located in the Operations menu of the Production Definitions section. The filter options and functions are:

Update Method: This field is used to specify the method to be used for batch update of BOM. This field contains the following options:

• Material will be deleted
• Material will be changed
• Child bill of materials revisions will be updated

When Material Will Be Deleted is selected, the update is performed by deleting the material specified on the Current Material Code filter line from the input or output lines of the specified bills of materials.
When Material Will Be Changed is selected, the material specified on the Current Material Code filter line is updated by being changed with the material specified on the New Material Code filter line.
When Child Bill of Materials Revisions Will Be Updated is selected, the Child Bill of Materials Revisions of the material matching the conditions specified on the Current Material Code filter line are updated.
Current Material Code / Description / Quantity and Unit: The fields used to specify the materials to be processed in BOM update transaction depending on the update method.
New Material Code / Description / Quantity and Unit: The lines used to record the values of the new materials to be used when "Material Will Be Changed" is selected on the Update Method filter line.
Bill of Materials Code and Description: The fields used to specify the bills of materials to be updated by making a group or range definition.
Bill of Materials Lines: The fields used to specify the BOM lines to be updated. The field contains the following options:

• All
• Input Lines
• Output Lines

When All, Input Lines or Output Lines options is selected, all lines, only the input lines or only the output lines are updated respectively according to the filter conditions set.
Conditioning Material Code / Description: These filter lines are used to specify the relevant materials of the material class which will be updated (exchanged with the new material or deleted) when material class is selected as the product and co-product in the BOM.
The conditions set in the Batch Update of BOM filter lines can be saved by clicking on "Save Filter" button. When the same filter conditions will be used for an update, the defined filter files are listed and selected using "Load Filter" button.
