Master Production Schedule is the operation used to generate a plan by processing data related to the production, capacity constraints and cost factors of the plant in order to deliver customer orders and other demands on time. This plan includes materials to be produced, and the time and quantity of production.
In a typical MPS operation, the materials are the products to be delivered to customers; in other words they are the main products.
Master Production Schedule (MPS) is a planning tool for a short term planning period and used in order to determine the materials to be produced, production quantity and production period in a certain plant.
These are considered in planning:

  • safety Inventory Level amounts total defined for plant warehouses
  • materials on hand
  • customer orders
  • user's demand entries

In order to see a material in MPS it is necessary to specify that the material will be planned in Master Production Schedule.
In order to specify the planning methods for the material the plant parameters located in the right mouse button menu of the material card is used.
