Revision updates of the bill of materials are performed one by one through the engineering change records. Batch revisions are performed by selecting bills of materials, engineering change records and the Update Method. Bill of Materials Revision Updates option is located in the Operations menu of the Production Definitions section. The revision update conditions are set in the Bill of Materials Revision Update filter lines. The filter options and functions are:

Product Code / Description / Authorization Code and Aux. Code: The filter lines used to specify the conditions of the product to be processed in the batch revision update transaction.

Bill of Materials Code / Description / Authorization Code and Aux. Code: The filter lines used to specify the conditions of the bills of materials to be processed in the batch revision update transaction.

Revision Code / Description: The filter lines used to specify the bills of materials to be covered by the revision update transaction.

Engineering Change Number / Aux. Code, Auth. Code / Transaction Date: The filter lines used to specify the conditions of the engineering changes to be processed in the batch revision update transaction.

Update Method: The revision change method is specified on the Update Method filter line. This update method field contains the Date, Depletion, Lot/Serial Number and Date-Lot/Serial Number options.

If the engineering change will be performed after the date specified on the date line, date is selected as the change method.

If the engineering change will be performed after the depletion of a specific input material, Depletion is selected as the change method.

The values of the input materials are specified on the Material Code and Material Description filter lines using group or range definition filters. 

If the engineering change will be performed after a product with a specific serial/lot number is produced, the Lot/Serial Number method is selected. Lot number or serial number values are specified on the Lot/Serial Number filter line.

Date-Lot/Serial No If the engineering change will be performed after a specific date and a product with a specific serial/lot number is produced, the date-lot/serial number method is selected.

The conditions set in the Bill of Materials Revision Update filter lines can be saved for future use by clicking "Save Filter" button. When the same filter conditions will be used for an update, the defined filter files are listed and selected using "Load Filter" button.
