Each transaction recorded in G/L accounts can be related to more than one overhead pool. For instance, a company can meet needs of more than one department through batch purchases. In such cases, the purchase transaction has to be connected to overhead pools, and the expense must be distributed into overhead pools.

In the LOGO application, project records are used to distribute transactions of any account into overhead pools in certain periods according to predefined rules. In this way, controls can be performed between accounts, and necessary reports can be generated.

The project is also used to track project costs, to enter control data, and to perform reporting transactions. Projects are costly and long lasting works such as bridge, dam, ship and planned constructions, or computer software creation. Therefore, they require an intense control in terms of quality and cost. So it is highly important to define projects for which costs – related to any overhead pool – are assumed, and report this information regularly.

The Projects option located in the Main Records menu of the General Ledger section is used for all project transactions. The options and functions of the projects window are:

New

Used to create a new project.

Update

Used to change project definitions.

Delete

Used to delete the project definition. Project records connected to distribution templates cannot be deleted.

View

Used to view the selected project definition without making changes.

Copy

Used to create a new record by copying the information of the selected project. Provides ease of use by allowing fast data entry.

Record Information

Indicates the users who performed the entry and update transactions of the selected record and the time of these transactions.


Database Extensions

Used for user-defined forms.


Multiple Delete

Used to delete the selected records in batch.


Search

Used to find the project that match the required number on the projects list sorted by number.

Filter

Used to access the projects according to the filter conditions specified in the projects list.


Account Summary

Used to list the amounts of the selected project definition in monthly totals.


F. Currency Totals

Used to list the project totals in transaction currency.


Transactions

Used to list project transactions by specified dates and filter conditions.

Extract

The option used to list debit, credit and balance totals of project transactions, along with transaction information.


Number of Records

Lists the total number of records on the projects window.


Refresh

Used to display the current status of the projects window.


Back to Defaults

Used to display the active window with the standard dimensions defined in the application.


Create Shortcut

Used to create shortcuts of the records.


Send Shortcut

Used to send the created shortcuts to related users.
