Company or division units located in different locations and used for material management are called Warehouses. Each warehouse is structurally related to a division. Material cost calculations and level/status controls can be performed by warehouse. A warehouse can be related to only one division. However, divisions may have more than one warehouse.

Warehouse definitions are recorded using Warehouses option located on the Company Definitions window. The Warehouse Definition window is used to assign warehouse numbers and names and to select the related division.

The name of the warehouse numbered 0 is Main and it is recorded as default in the application. The name of the warehouse can be changed if necessary; however, the warehouse number cannot be changed. In the LOGO application, transactions with blank Warehouse fields are assumed to be performed by the warehouse number zero.

Virtual Warehouse

When you select "Do Not Affect Material Totals" option for a warehouse, that warehouse's material transactions will not affect the general totals of materials based on all warehouses. But the totals will be able to be tracked based on the related warehouse.

The warehouses, which "Do Not Affect Material Totals" option is selected for, will be used as they are virtual warehouses. But, when there are transactions between warehouses, especially concerning the virtual warehouses, in order to calculate the costs correctly, the material transactions in these warehouses will be considered in cost calculations. Virtual warehouse application will facilitate the physical material tracking especially in importation transactions.
