The material classes are structures used to monitor the materials by dividing them into groups by their qualitative and quantitative properties such as color, length, size, engine power, accessories, etc.

The Material Class definitions are used to record the general properties of the class, material characteristics and the usage, location and unit information. The Child Material Classes and/or Materials, class and table connections to be monitored are established under these classes and associated with the appropriate Material Class. The Material definitions connected to any group are automatically generated using Material Classes (with table) option.

The properties of the Material Classes are:

  • The Material Classes are structures used to monitor the materials by dividing them into groups by their qualitative and quantitative properties such as color, size, engine power, accessories, etc.
  • The Material Class definitions are used to record the general properties of the class, material characteristics and the usage, location and unit information. The class and table connections of the Child Material Classes and/or Materials to be monitored are established under these classes and associated with the appropriate Material Class. The Material definitions to be included in a given class are automatically generated using Material Classes (with table) option.
  • The Material Classes have a hierarchical structure. Each material class can include as many sub-classes as required. Each level can be divided into as many subdivisions as required. The Class Connections are generated and the requested class characteristics are automatically transferred into the sub groups in accordance with the hierarchical structure.
  • Each class can contain as many materials with the same characteristics as required or each material can be included in more than one class.
  • The Material Classes have two definitions: General and With Table. The material class tree and materials are created by generating the table and class connections.
  • The Material and Material Class definitions are connected to the Customer/Supplier and Trading Groups. In this way, the customers that the Material Class and the materials within the class are sold to, and the suppliers who supplied such materials can be easily tracked and reported.
  • The unit information of the Unit Set and the Material Class to be applied to the Material Class and the Material Classes and/or Materials it includes are specified on the Material Class definition window or during the creation of class connections. Each Material Class or Material can be processed only on one Unit Set.
  • The warehouse level of the Material Classes and the materials contained within these classes, and the method to be used for material level checks are recorded. This information is automatically assigned to the subclasses and Materials within the group by establishing class connections.

If the class characteristic is used, it can be recorded in two ways:

    • Material Class (General)
    • Material Class (With Table)

Material Class (General) option is used to create the main Material Classes and Child Material Classes in the required number, and materials to be included under these groups are specified. The Parent Material Class characteristics are transferred into the Child Material Classes and Materials by creating class connections.

The General Material Classes are recorded using Material Classes or Material/Material Class Tree option under the Main Records menu.

The matrix table is defined using the material classes (with table) and material characteristics; and the materials can be tracked in different dimensions using this table. The materials of the same type with different characteristics are coded using the matrix method. The material table connection is created and the Material definitions are generated automatically by quantity and code. The Material Classes (with table) are recorded using the Material Classes or Material/Material Class Tree option under the Main Records menu.

The Material Class information for General and With Table types are recorded on the General Info, Tracking, Units, Material Characteristics (only for Material Classes (with table)), G/L Accounts, Customers/Suppliers, Bill of Materials Relation and E-Shop tabs.

The Material Characteristics tab of the Material Classes of the Material Class (with table) type is used to define the combinations of the characteristics. The table is generated according to the Line/Column and Priority values of the defined lines. The lines that have no values entered in the Priority field are assumed to have the lowest priority in priority definitions. In such cases, the characteristics are processed according to the order of lines.
