The price indices of transactions are automatically calculated and displayed on the Opening Slip generated with carrying over operations. The calculate index can be changed if necessary. Furthermore, indices are entered for slips and transactions added by the user.

The account type is processed in index calculations for non-monetary accounts. Indices are not calculated for transactions resulting in credit balance if the account type is debit, and for transactions resulting in debit balance if the account type is credit. Amounts of transactions resulting in balances in line with the account type are matched using the LIFO method, and the index is assigned according to the formula.

Example:

Transactions performed in 2001 for a non-monetary debit account are shown on the table below:

Date

Debit

Credit

Index

01.02.2001

100,000,000

100

01.03.2001

50,000,000

200

01.06.2001

200,000,000

250

According to this date, the balance of the account at the opening of year 2002 is 250,000,000 (B). Since the account has a debit balance, the index of the related opening transaction is calculated as follows:

The debit transaction with the latest date is determined. In our example, this transaction is 200,000,000 (B) transaction dated 01.06.2001. Therefore 200,000,000 TL amount of 250,000,000 TL results from this transaction. The remaining amount is 250,000,000-200,000,000= 50,000,000 TL. The next transaction with the latest date is 100,000,000 (B) transaction dated 01.02.2001. The remaining 50,000,000 TL must be connected to this transaction. In this case;

1/ Price Index = ((1/100)50,000,000) + ((1/250)*200,000,000)/50,000,000 + 200,000,000 operation results in *Price Index = 192,30769.

The balance is important for monetary accounts. At the end of the period, the debit or credit transactions are determined depending on the balance of the account, and amounts are matched according to the LIFO method. The price index is assigned at the end of the matching operation, following the steps defined above.
