The options and functions located in the Line Type field of the Bill of Materials window are:
Product: The main output line produced using the Bill of Materials. This line is displayed in bold.

By Product: The line type used to record the information of the by-product obtained when the bill of materials is used. Products that are obtained during production in addition to the product, and that are never used are called by products. Only the finished product or semi finished product materials can be selected in the by-product BOM lines.
The type of the output produced in the by-product lines can be material or material class. If the product type is material class (general) or material class (with table), the child materials of the by product can be accessed as well. If a material class is present among the child materials of the output lines of material class type, this material class can also be accessed through the material condition (code) field, and a selection can be made.
Co Product: The line type used to record the information of the co product obtained when the bill of materials is used. Co Product is the product obtained in addition to the product in the production process. The same bill of materials can contain multiple co products and by products along with a product. Only the finished product or semi finished product materials can be selected in the co product BOM lines.
The type of the output produced in the co product lines can be material or material class. If the product type is material class (general) or material class (with table), the child materials of the co product can be accessed as well. If a material class is present among the child materials of the output lines of material class type, this material class can also be accessed through the material condition (code) field, and a selection can be made. The lines of the co product are also displayed in bold as the product line.
Pseudo Semi Finished Product: The line type used to record the information regarding the pseudo semi finished product used to produce the outputs specified on the bill of materials. These products are the semi-finished products that are produced and used in the same process, and not tracked in the inventory. Only the semi finished product materials can be selected in the pseudo BOM lines. The LOGO application does not allow any other type of material to be selected, and warns the user.
Having any pseudo semi finished product defined as a product, co product or by product is sufficient for a bill of materials to be selected.
