Specific fields can be defined as mandatory fields for card and slip records. This transaction is performed using Compulsory Fields option located in the Global menu of the System Administration application.

- AR/AP
- Material
- G/L Accounts
- Invoices
- Order Slips
- Material Slips
- G/L Slip
- Dispatch/Receipt
Standard fields defined in the LOGO application and user defined fields are displayed on the Compulsory Field window. Fields required to be mandatory are selected. Selected fields cannot be left blank while cards or slips are being recorded.
It is possible to control number of characters and character value type when entering data to compulsory fields (not for the fields for amount entries). For these controls, Minimum, Maximum and Value Type fields are used in compulsory fields window.
The required limit for number of characters for data entry to compulsory fields is determined in Minimum and Maximum fields. The type of data to be entered is specified in Value Type field. This field contains, All, Number Only and Text Only options.
When "All" is selected, any type of character can be entered to compulsory field.
If "Number Only" is selected, when a data is entered to any compulsory field, containing text value, the application warns user with "…….. field can contain only numeric value" message.
If "Text Only" is selected, when a data is entered to any compulsory field containing numeric value, the application warns user with "…….. field can contain only text value" message.
When entering value to compulsory fields, in case the number of characters is not between the limit specified in Minimum and Maximum fields, the application warns user with "…….. field info is not in required length (Min: X – Max: X)" message. The number range specified in this warning message is the character limit range determined in compulsory field window.
