The production order is automatically released by the LOGO application when it is recorded for the first time. However, if changes are made to the time and workstation information on the production order lines tab after the release, the user should perform the release operation manually in order to reflect the changes to the work orders and related slips.
The release operation determines the start date, end date and operation time of the operations related to the production order. The release column located in the production orders window can be used to track whether or not the release operation is performed. The release option located in the right mouse button menu of the production orders window is used to perform the release operation.

The release operation can be performed when the Status of the production order is "Not Started" and "Work in Process". However, forward or backward changes on the time schedule do not affect the planned start date and planned end date of work orders of which status is "Work in Process", "Stopped", "Completed" and "Closed". These changes affect only the planned start date and planned end date of work orders of which status is "Not Started".
Changes made to the start time and end time of work orders update all planned material slips that are related as well.
Once the release operation is performed, all work orders and operation times are inserted into the time schedule by processing the target start date, planning method and workdays specified on the production order.
The release operation can be performed Forward or Backward depending on the planning method specified on the production order. The upper pane of the release window displays the release date and production order information. The lines within the window list the work orders of the operations for which the resources and materials are checked by the LOGO application, sorted by start date, end date, start time and end time information.
The operation info pane of the release window displays the operation code and operation description of the work order, and the workstation code, workstation description and workstation work time information used in the operation.
The production order info pane of the window displays the planned start date, planned start time, planned end date, planned end time and total work order time information.
The release operation is completed when "Save" button is clicked.
The checks for resources such as workstation, employee and tools to be used in the operations are performed by the LOGO application during the release operation. When the production order is released, operation times are listed along with operation steps. The release operation is stopped if a problem is detected.
The operations are sorted on the Release window by Priority and overlap rates.
Operations for which the overlap rate is specified as 100% start at the same time. Operations for which the overlap rate is specified as 0% start when the previous operation is completed.
